The National African Federated Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NAFCOC) Welcomes High
Court Ruling on the Matter of Sabelo Macingwane Vs NAFCOC
NAFCOC welcomes the High Court Ruling against the ousted President Mr. Sabelo Macingwane, we are satisfied
with the ruling that the High Court judge handed down today and dismissed the matter with costs to Mr.
Macingwane and his attorneys.
The Background to the case No: 27925 /2019
Mr.Sabelo Macingwane approached the courts to declare the meeting and resolutions taken by the NAFCOC
National Council held on the 31st of July 2019 removing him as the President to be declared as invalid and that
he resume as President of NAFCOC.The judge has dismissed the case with costs to Mr.Macingwane.
The Executive Committee is studying the judgement and will continue implementing the council resolutions.
The current acting President Mr. Gilbert Mosena will continue to act as President of NAFCOC until further
notice.NAFCOC would like to thank all the council members for taking this resolution and being pro-active in
identifying all the problems before they have a serious impact on the organisation.
As a Chamber of Commerce and Industry we would like to finally put the matters of litigation behind us and get
onto the business of being the voice of small business to medium enterprises .NAFCOC would like to reassure
its members that we will continue to work towards improving the lives of the marginalised black business and
renew our call for the revitalisation of township economies.
NAFCOC would like to call on all its members to refrain from participating in illegal meetings or gatherings
organised by Mr. Macingwane and his supporters.NAFCOC leadership has taken the matter under advisement
and are advised that any conduct by any individual which is calculated to or has undesirable consequences of
infringing, damaging, tarnishing the good name and reputation of NAFCOC may be justiciable.
